Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. Lung cancer screening greatly increases the chances of discovering cancer at an earlier stage when it is more likely to be treatable. Without the screening, 70% of lung cancers are found at a later stage, decreasing the likelihood for successful treatment.
